Boost Your Fertility Before Using A Sperm Donor

Considering a Sperm Donor? Try Boosting Your… by cindywrd3

A Sperm Donor will be in sought after demand. I keep reading about sperm shortages and demands on a sperm donor. Some women decide on a sperm donor when they don’t have a suitable partner. Specifically, for many women the choice of a sperm donor is attributable to a fertility condition or by way of a hereditary disease, that parents don’t wish to pass on to their baby.

Sperm health can be very easily damaged – within few months. And since IVF procedures can’t improve sperm health, for some a sperm donor becomes an extremely probable choice.

Before Even Thinking About A Sperm Donor:

Some factors found to impact sperm wellness are:
1. Diet
2. Lifestyle
3. Environment
4. Drugs
5. Stress

From these five is seems the one we take least seriously is stress. In today’s modern world everyone seems to have a fair share of stress to deal with so it’s become completely normal being stressed. Actually if you are not stressed you might even get funny looks! But stress is real and it’s unwanted effects on our health and wellness and fertility have been very well documented.

A recent study from the University of Texas in Austin found that high levels of the stress hormone cortisol can block testosterone. Testosterone accounts for healthy sperm morphology, motility and count.

The study learned that since cortisol is necessary for survival and fight or flight mode, it’s within our body’s interest to suppress testosterone. Testosterone is associated with reproduction which when your life is at stake is not a priority.

When the cause of stress is taken away cortisol drops and testosterone can certainly still do it’s work. Unfortunately today many men and women are under constant work pressure and stress which leads to chronically high levels cortisol over prolonged period of time. This situation is detrimental to human health, immunity, digestion, nervous system and then – fertility.

In males prolonged insufficient testosterone because of cortisol suppression can result in impotence and loss of libido. In women cortisol can suppress estrogen and progesterone ultimately causing abnormal menstrual cycles and fertility problems.

This only proves that stress shouldn’t be taken lightly and shrugged off.

The good news is, once your stress is at a manageable level your cortisol levels will drop and your fertility will have the ability to resume.

Even if you don’t have a partner and are thinking about a sperm donor, it pays to optimally prepare your body for pregnancy before getting into insemination by a sperm donor. This way you’ll be boosting your odds of a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby, with or without a sperm donor.

Couples struggling with infertility due to sperm abnormalities need to look into optimizing their sperm health using natural fertility treatments. In most cases, sperm abnormalities can be fixed naturally within 16 weeks elimiating the need for a sperm donor.
